For my life drawing class, we have an object investigation assignment. My object is a bell pepper, and I decided to take some photographs and do some simple photoshop work to them.

Color theory project

This assignment for my color theory class was to create an image that used only colors of full saturation. It was from a couple months ago but my teacher allowed me to redo it. So I went at it with photoshop to practice my skills a bit more and this is what I came up with.

Dan Hillier

This is one of the best artists I have discovered in a while...the art of Dan Hillier is reminiscent of surrealist collage. His combination of using Victorian age styles with his metamorphism of human and animal suggests the mystery of the supernatural. To see more of his work visit http://www.danhillier.com/#/?image_id=ae_09

Travis Louie

This artist i just recently discovered just came out with an exhibition titled, "The Creature Show." He has many acrylic paintings that take you to a past that never was and a reality that can never be. I love his ideas and creativity, and if you like what you see you can always see more at HiFructose magazine's website...

Paco Pomet

I recently was checking out HiFructose magazine's website and discovered Paco Pomet, this particular painting is one of my favorites I saw. There are many other excellent paintings to check out if you want at http://www.hifructose.com/the-blog/1409-the-art-of-paco-pomet.html
It looks as though he takes vintage pictures and puts his own little twist on it, hope you enjoy.

Josh Keyes

Josh Keyes' art is greatly influenced by the cold harsh truths of science textbook illustrations combined with modern day events, which together create an oddly unsettling style. Again, to see more from him check out Fecal Face at http://www.fecalface.com/SF/index.php/features-mainmenu-102/3004-josh-keyes-interview

Erin M. Riley

This artist says that, "I weave tapestries of the pictures you would delete if you ever uploaded that drunk night of debauchery from your camera." I thought this was an interesting concept, thought I would share it with all of you. If you would like to see more, visit Fecal Face at

Jean-Pierre Roy

Just discovered this artist from Hi-Fructose magazine and pulled the picture up from google. Jen-Pierre Roy's main focus on his artwork represents the moment before a giant disaster. I love the way he captures those last few seconds of immense beauty before the destruction

Updated starfish

So...I made a few slight changes to my bobblehead starfish, I fixed any mistakes I made with the pen tool, i redesigned his right hand, and adjusted the saturation of the background color

Bobblehead starfish update!

So, I worked on my project for about 5 hours and got the final thing done. Unless there are any last minute changes I want to make to it, this will be my final project...enjoy.

Starfish Bobblehead!

First Adobe Illustrator project, my take on what a starfish bobblehead is supposed to look like...I might add a surfboard underneath him riding a tsunami, but I'll add that picture later

Speakers...

For my color theory class, I had to make a graphic illustration that uses colors at only at full saturation. I used the skills i learned from our class in photoshop to experiment with how the colors would look, and this is what I came up with..

Paulo Arraian

Cool new artist that I found from my regular art website, awesome graffiti on the walls, thought you would like to see it.

Little Doors

Apparently this guy has installed 20 little mysterious doors hidden in odd pockets of San Francisco. Thought that was a really interesting idea, and if I was walking by and saw this late at night it would definitely make me think. Found it from the amazing website Fecal Face.http://www.fecalface.com/SF/index.php/good-stuff/2878-little-doors-in-out-of-sf

updated photoshop song project!

My project is coming together even more! I added a bunch more "mountains" and edited the figures even further. Next I will extend out the smoke from the fire to swirl around and begin to engulf the foreground. I also have 1 more figure to add in that hopefully will tie the image together a bit more.

project update!

after many thought modifications, my project is coming together a bit more...I changed the mountains, sky, and foreground images so that there is more space for the tribal figures to be dancing around. For a while I wanted to have breakdancing figures as well but I decided the scene would be more unified if I kept it constrained to these tribal members, I might add a couple more after this.

song project progress

This is what I have so far for our song project using photoshop. I chose the 18 minute long song titled "The echo of the future." The overall scene that I want to convey is a bunch of odd tribal/masked figures dancing around a fire in the desert

The art of Skinner

This artist is one that I have been a fan of for a couple years. I discovered him in a magazine called Hi Fructose, and truly related to his crazy style. I was also thinking about sampling one of these images for my photoshop song project.

Took what I learned from class and applied to my homework assignment, went very smoothly, I feel that I am getting more comfortable with photoshop now. Excited to learn more tomorrow!

attempt at using Vector masks

My first attempt at using vector masks. This class assignment went fairly well, and was thoroughly enjoyable.

first photoshop attempt

This is my first time ever using photoshop, surprisingly enough these photos took me like 7 hours to do because I was having a really hard time figuring out the secret to using layers. The image on the left is supposed to be dark and moody. The image on the right is supposed to be trippy and happy. I realized the day after I made them that they both involved trees haha

Eugene Plotnikov

An artist that I recently discovered. This style is very similar to what I get my inspiration for most of my artwork from. A friend of mine showed me an awesome website that I have been discovering a plethora of awesome new, recent artists! Check it out... www.fecalface.com/SF/

Ask stupid questions.

Growth is fueled by desire and innocence. Assess the answer, not the question. Imagine learning throughout your life at the rate of an infant.
